Biography
La Trinidad is a band made up of three members: Sixto, Carlos, and Jorge. They chose their name from one of the most popular and historic neighborhoods in their hometown of Málaga. The group formed naturally after three members of The Loud Residents went their separate ways. Now, under the label Sonido Muchacho, La Trinidad has released their debut album, Los Edificios Que Se Derrumban, following two EPs: El Peligro (2018) and Nuevas Dignidades (2019). The band had planned to unveil their first full-length album, set to be featured at around twenty confirmed festivals, and it was poised to be one of the most important releases of the year. The album showcases the band’s youthful energy, presenting sharp, direct power-pop songs influenced by bands like The Replacements and Los Ilegales.
La Trinidad’s music offers a distinctive sound, far from the mainstream pop or noise pop trends that often dominate streaming platforms. Produced by Carlangas, a longtime friend and honorary band member, Sheriff Playa was conceived under unique circumstances, reflecting the spontaneity and chaos of its creation. The album was recorded with minimal instrumentation—just one guitar, a bass, drums, keyboards, and subtle effects—capturing a raw, almost live sound.
At just 26 minutes, Sheriff Playa delivers ten tracks with a swift and bold statement, defying typical industry conventions. Despite its brief length, the album feels complete and innovative, with its Mediterranean influences and minimalist production.
La Trinidad's second album is a reflection of their growth, grounded in the present, with no grand futuristic claims. Instead, it’s a fresh take on the current rock scene, blending simplicity with experimentation, and marking their unique place in the evolving musical landscape.
