Biography
Duki, born Mauro Ezequiel Lombardo in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on June 24, 1996, is a groundbreaking Latin trap and hip-hop artist who has become one of the most influential figures in the Latin music scene. Duki rose to fame through freestyle rap battles in Argentina, particularly with his participation in El Quinto Escalón, a now-iconic competition in Buenos Aires that launched the careers of several notable artists. His energy, lyrical flow, and unique style quickly set him apart, helping him transition from underground battles to mainstream success.
In 2017, Duki released “No Vendo Trap,” a song that skyrocketed his popularity across Latin America. With its catchy beats and raw lyrics, the track marked his move from freestyle into the studio, allowing him to shape his own musical identity. This hit opened doors for Duki, and he soon collaborated with some of the biggest names in Latin urban music, such as Bad Bunny, Khea, and Cazzu. His collaborations expanded his reach, making him a staple in reggaeton and trap scenes worldwide.
Duki’s debut album, Súper Sangre Joven, released in 2019, was a commercial success, showcasing his versatility across Latin trap, hip-hop, and even rock influences. His follow-up projects, including Desde el Fin del Mundo (2021) and Temporada de Reggaetón (2022), further solidified his role as a pioneer in the Latin music industry, blending genres and experimenting with different sounds. Known for his powerful stage presence, Duki has headlined major music festivals and tours, filling venues throughout Latin America, Europe, and the U.S.
Beyond his music, Duki is considered a voice for his generation, often addressing issues of identity, fame, and the struggles of young artists in the digital age. His impact extends far beyond Argentina, making him a symbol of Latin trap’s global rise.
