Biography
Miriam Doblas Muñoz, born April 1, 1992, in Madrid and professionally known as Lola Índigo, is a Spanish singer and dancer. Índigo first gained widespread attention in 2017 as a contestant on the ninth season of the Spanish reality television talent show Operación Triunfo. Although she was the first to be eliminated from the show, her departure marked the beginning of a successful musical career.
Following her exit from Operación Triunfo, Índigo signed with Universal Music and released her debut single, "Ya No Quiero Ná," which became a major hit in Spain. The track peaked at number three on the PROMUSICAE chart and was certified triple platinum, selling over a hundred thousand copies. This success was followed by an MTV Europe Music Award for Best Spanish Act in 2019.
Born in Madrid and raised in Huétor-Tajar, Granada, Índigo developed an early interest in the arts, particularly dance. She began her career as a dance teacher and participated in various musicals. In 2010, she competed in the Spanish dance television competition Fama Revolution, where she was eliminated in the fourth week. Subsequently, she worked as a backup dancer for prominent artists including Chris Brown, Enrique Iglesias, and Marta Sánchez, and spent time in China and Los Angeles for further training.
In 2017, Índigo auditioned for Operación Triunfo, which had recently returned to television. The show quickly became a cultural phenomenon, garnering substantial media attention. After her departure from the show, she performed in concerts across Barcelona and Madrid and played amateur DJ sets. She held her first official concert in January 2018 and later co-headlined a 23-date tour with her fellow Operación Triunfo contestants.
In June 2018, Índigo adopted the stage name Lola Índigo and released her debut single, "Ya No Quiero Ná," which was met with critical and commercial success. Her debut album, Akelarre, was released in May 2019 and topped the Spanish charts. The album was supported by a tour spanning 33 concerts across Spain.
The period following the release of Akelarre saw Índigo collaborating with various artists, including Aitana, Don Patricio, and Cupido. In 2020, she released "4 Besos," featuring Rauw Alejandro and Lalo Ebratt, as the lead single from her anticipated second album. Her subsequent releases included collaborations with Mala Rodríguez, Danna Paola, and María Becerra, and her single "La Niña de la Escuela," released in July 2021, reached the third position on the Spanish iTunes charts.
In 2022, Índigo released "Las Solteras" and "An1mal" as singles leading up to her third studio album, El Dragón, which came out in April 2023. The album features notable collaborations, including "El Tonto" with Quevedo and "Corazones Rotos" with Luis Fonsi. In 2024, she joined the ninth season of La Voz Kids as a coach, alongside David Bisbal, Rosario Flores, and Melendi.
