Last year, Wiesbaden-born actor Jens Harzer received what is probably the most legendary award in the German-speaking theatre world: the Iffland-Ring. The holder, or bearer, of the Iffland-Ring is considered to be the "most significant and most worthy actor of the German-speaking theatre", in the opinion of the previous holder who passes it on to the new bearer by will. In Jens Harzer´s case, it was Bruno Ganz, who died in 2019, who passed the ring on to him. The Hessian State Theatre of Wiesbaden is honoured to present Jens Harzer in an exclusive reading of Friedrich Hölderlin´s "Hyperion" at this year´s International May Festival.
