Guitarist Craig Whillle was dazzled for the first time by singer Hannah Merrick at a music showcas of university bands. A few years later, they met together as colleagues at a restaurant in Liverpool, where Craig finally managed to persuade Hannah to play together. And that’s when she taught him how to lay out cutlery properly. In the music of the duo King Hannah, Hanna’s smoky, hypnotic voice, set somewhere between Hope Sandoval and Lana Del Rey, meets Craig’s sluggish guitar lines similar to those of Kurt Villa, Steve Gunn or War On Drugs. All this is underlined by swirling atmospheric textures and intoxicating, melodic soundscapes. On February 25, they released their debut inspired by the nineties lo-fi aesthetic - I’m Not Sorry, I Was Just Being Me - on the famous Berlin label City Slang. Prague will present the record on April 8, 2022 in the Smíchov factory. For the first time in the Czech Republic!
