Muunduja (Shifter) The two Estonian musicians propose an unprecedented and contemporary musical formula that combines Maarija Nuut´s violin and voice with Hendrik Kaljujärv´s electronics, aka Ruum. A seductive journey, inner and psychedelic, between past and future, tradition and modernity. Maarja Nuut is a singer, violinist and composer known for her engaging, often hypnotic performances. Born in Rakvere, she studied classical music and folk by elaborating the rural style of pre-Soviet Estonia together with constant electronic experimentation. Born in Tartu, Ruum uses digital synthesizers and environmental recordings to create soundscapes experimented both for the theater and in various musical collaborations. Their first album Muunduja (Shifter) was released in October 2018 by the British label 130701.
