The Deluxe group has performed on Saturday night February 8 at the Salamandra venue of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (near Barcelona, Spain) presenting his album ‘Boys & Girl’, this has been their debut in Catalonia and the result could not have been better. The French have transmitted their tremendous energy and good vibes among the spectators that filled the room, many of them compatriots of theirs living in Barcelona, with their songs in English, mix of funk, electro, reggae, hip hop, soul and other music. They have played their best known songs like ‘Get Down’, ‘Tum Rakak’, ‘Superman’…
The public has not stopped jumping, dancing and splashing beer while enjoying an allergic performance to any type of statism. It is clear that whoever goes to see Deluxe will dance, if not, stay at home. The group has been responsible for entertaining the atendees based on scenic gags such as when the saxophonist Pepe has climbed on the shoulders of a roadie and has crossed the entire room or a girl from the public has come up to dance with singer Liliboy and the she has left with her mouth open when she has opened her legs to the fullest against the ground. An MC has also been on the scene, it has been a non-stop entertaining the public, probably because of its origin, Deluxe is formed by street musicians who have learned very well to win people's smiles.
Liliboy is a true wonder, she says she likes muscles even though she doesn't have it, impossible that she isn't fibrated with such exercise. She has not stopped dancing, jumping and kicking over her head with her funny dress mustache-shaped skirt, leitmotif of the band. The rest of the band of Aix-en-Provence, Kaya (bassist), Kilo (drums), Pietre (guitarist) and Soubri (percussion), all men, wear mustaches and among the audience many girls wore a glitter mustache. A lot of fun and dancing without worrying about who looks.
To sum up, we hope to see you again here, in festivals or own tours, they are a safe value and break the myth of the inexportability of French music. It is a pity that despite having been active for more than a decade they are still very unknown in Catalonia or Spain despite the fact that Aix-en-Provence is 491 kilometers from Barcelona and, for example, Madrid is 624 kilometers. It would be desirable for groups such as Deluxe to intensify a cross-border musical dialogue between Spain and France.
