The Baboon Show concert at the Barna’n’Roll on Saturday, August 3 at the Poble Espanyol in Barcelona has been, without any doubt, the most energetic of the festival. The Swedish quartet has turned the Plaza Mayor upside down with its cool but muscular punk-rock giving wings on the feet to the public who jumped out of control sweating seas and splashing beer as if they were sprinklers.
However, the Swedish band also brings a powerful social message and her singer, in full form only a few weeks after giving birth - she has done 15 push-ups on stage -, demanded a roof for all people in the world, food and clean water.
Their performance, presenting their latest album ‘Radio Rebelde’, has only lasted an hour but it is undoubtedly one of the most vivid images the festival has left in the mind of the attendees. They have the best characteristics of a rock group: songs with punch, wild attitude on stage, and message. A marvel. Who would not have seen them before will surely have thought: what am I doing with my life?
The group consists of Cecilia Boström (vocals), Frida Ståhl (bass), Håkan Sörle (guitar) and Niclas Svensson (drums).
