Bluesman Amadeu Casas dies

Amadeu Casas died on Saturday December 26 at the age of 66 in Barcelona. The Barcelona guitarist, singer and composer has been one of the most important blues references in Catalonia, accompanying Pi de la Serra or alone.

In total he has recorded seven albums with his own songs: 'Blues a go-go' (1997), 'Estrictament personal' (2002), 'Strollin' Band '(2005),' Blue Machine '(2005),'Matèria Orgànica' (2012), 'Lo Gaiter de la Muga' (2013) -music poems- and 'Set' (2016).

The musician was born on July 7, 1954 and his life has been linked to the blues. He has been part of some of the best groups of this musical style in Catalonia: Blues Reunion, Blues Messengers, Slide Company or Tandoori LeNoir, in addition to having been part of the aforementioned trio with Pi de la Serra and Joan Pau Cumellas.

Amadeu Casas has also been the author of the song 'Llibertat cautiva', dedicated to political prisoners and all the people who have suffered state repression after the vote in the referendum on October 11 in Catalonia, recorded in the Modelo prison in Barcelona.
