Chaos in the 2021 Vida Festival entrance queues

The first day of the Vida Festival 2021 in Vilanova i la Geltrú (near Barcelona), the first mass festival without social distance in Europe since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, could not be more disappointing for many of its 10,000 attendees. Many have had to queue for hours due to the failure of the computer application of the QR code validation system, this incident has caused the collapse of the site where the antigen tests are performed.

According to ‘El Periódico’, the 166 health workers could not read the apps of the attendees with the result of the test, an indispensable requirement to access the musical event. The performances, with Vetusta Morla as headliner, have executed the schedule despite the problem of entering the concert area of many people.

The organization has published a statement on the subject: "Thank you very much to everyone for your patience on this first day of the festival. We are aware that early technical incidents have caused a delay that you are suffering. But rigor in the protocol to ensure maximum safety of all attendees is a priority. The organization of the festival is working hard so that you can enjoy the best version of Vida possible, the one that we have all won in 2021."

Many Twitter users say they haven’t even entered the festival because the health workers are gone.
