The Barcelona’s Festes de Gràcia 2020 will not have night concerts

The Festes de Gràcia, Barcelona’s most famous street party, will be held in 2020, specifically from 15 to 21 August, great news for the city that is returning to normality after suffering the global pandemic of the Covid-19.

However, to avoid crowds and encourage social distance, the mantra of "the new normal", no concerts will be held during the night. All activities will end before 11pm and a capacity check will be established. In addition, there will be events by appointment and their format will be reduced.

The proclamation will be made indoors and not in a square as usual. The decoration will be more symbolic than on other occasions and will only occupy the upper part of the façades and, consequently, there will be no competition between the streets.

As they say, there is no harm in not coming for good. The festivities will be much quieter than usual and could be a relief for many residents who these days tend to leave the neighborhood scared due to noise and crowds, up to two million people, invading the neighborhood not always in a civic and respectful manner.

In short, the Festes de Gràcia 2020 will allow a dose of joy for the residents of Gràcia in a format more rooted in the old festivities than in the crowds of recent times, with many visitors focused on irresponsible alcohol consumption.
