Byron Bay Bluesfest 2022: Midnight Oil, Crowded House, Morcheeba, The Cat Empire...

Byron Bay Bluesfest, one of Australia's biggest music festivals, will be held from Thursday 14th to Monday 18th April despite the catastrophic rains that hit the North of New South Wales region in early March. Thousands of people have lost their homes in an area of ​​rampant gentrification, a place where the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.

The Bluesfest concert area has also been affected. The storms have caused significant damage, but nothing that can not be solved, according to its director Peter Noble, who has asked for tourists to return to the region to help restore the economy. About 85,000 attendees are expected and about 1,000 workers are employed, 90 percent of the area.

The festival has been canceled in 2020 and 2021 - which was about to take place - due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting health restrictions.
