Love of Lesbian, at the Palau Sant Jordi: "One of the most exciting concerts of our lives"

Santi Balmes, singer of Love of Lesbian, has started the first mass concert without social distance from the pandemic, in front of 5,000 people with masks at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, assuring that it is "one of the most exciting concerts of our lives".

The Barcelona group had previously performed in front of 5,000 people - and many more - but the concert on March 27 is a milestone not only for the group, the Palau Sant Jordi or the city of Barcelona but worldwide. The musician has assured that "the world is watching us" and it is true, the experience of a massive concert without safety distance is being followed with great interest by the international press such as the 'New York Daily'.

The concert is an experiment promoted by various promoters of concerts and music festivals to be able to perform mass concerts again with certain security measures. However, there will be no subsequent contagion control among attendees as if there was a test in the Apollo Room.

The singer has noted that before the concert, "someone is already crying" to start the concert with the song 'Bajo el volcán'. He has also asked the public, divided into three zones, which they have tested negative in an antigen test done in various venues in the city such as Razzmatazz or Apollo, not to take off the mask.

He has dedicated the song 'Si salimos de esta' especially "to everyone, because during the pandemic we have lived through very difficult situations, especially cleaners, cash registers ...", and that "cuts in healthcare will never be made again".

On the stage of the Palau Sant Jordi, the Chilean rapper Ana Tijoux, now resident in Barcelona, has appeared as a guest to sing 'Universos infinitos'. Before performing 'Segundo asalto', Santi Balmes remarked that "for once giving negative is positive", giving a touch of humor to the evening, full of the great hits of the band.

Balmes has assured that when the new album comes out many will fall to fit the new repertoire. He then has performed 'Los males pasajeros'.

And that this concert is a battle won from a war that still continues, before performing ‘Manifesto delirista’ and also commenting on the struggle for self-restraint to make hugs. Julián Saldarriaga pointed out that he misses not arriving home at 3 am.

Suu -full name Susana Ventura-, "from the most free and tropical Maresme", according to Saldarriaga, has been the second guest to go up on the stage of Sant Jordi to sing 'Incendios de nieve'. During the song, Balmes invited the audience to sing "with a mask" the "loooo lololololo". The only place attendees can take off their masks is in the bar area, not on the court.

The encores of this historic concert sounded like a beginning version of 'Riders on the storm' by The Doors before '1999', with verses such as 'want to follow the show'. In the medley also sounded 'Porque te vas' de Jeanette.

The concert ended with 'Allí donde soliamo gritar' which the audience chanted loudly. Balmes said the experience was amazing but the war is not over. They have finally performed ‘Planeador’ and before leaving, Balmes has said that there have been very few positives, 4 out of 5,000, and that this could be because the audience has been content themselves to go to the concert and consequently organize concerts is positive: "I just wish that in the future, when someone talks about this concert, you can say: I was there! Today we made history. A small step for Love of Lesbian but a very big one for culture, we we'll get out of it! "

The audience has lived ecstatically, many with tears, a concert so special that it makes you think of a return to normalcy. It depends on the outcome of this initiative that festivals and major events return. The public has quickly withdrawn because there is still a curfew at 10 o'clock.
