A new edition of the music festival Cruïlla is approaching and it is time to start making the daily musical itineraries of this great festival and to avoid, as possible, the damn and inevitable overlaps.
The festival will take place from Thursday 12 to Saturday 14 July at its traditional location in the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona (Spain). Among the features that differentiate this festival from the rest are the duration of the concerts, there are very few that last less than an hour, the average is around an hour and a quarter. Death to the music festival zapping.
Another quality of the festival that makes it special is the atmosphere, specially during the day, surprisingly relaxed and without brutal agglomerations. However, it is the third festival in public in Barcelona, after Primavera Sound and Sónar, but there is no sense of stress, of not finding a minimum space to be calm and breathe, as it would happen in the rest of the macrofestivals. Late at night, the atmosphere of the concerts changes and it is quite similar to the rest.
Among the headliners are Jack White, Prophets of Rage, David Byrne, Justice, Orbital, The Roots, Gilberto Gil & Friends, Fatoumata Diawara, Damian 'Jr Gong' Marley, N.E.R.D. (The band captained by Pharell Williams), Bomba Estéreo, Kygo, Ben Howard... You can hear musical styles such as world music, pop-rock, electronic or hip hop.
Among the artists and spanish bands: Bunbury (image) and bands such as La Pegatina, Izal, Lori Meyers, Elefantes, The New Raemon, Joana Serrat, Núria Graham, Mi Capitán...
Among the curiosities of the festival: it is full cash-less, the wristbands can be collected a week before the festival in the Movistar store in Plaza Catalunya in Barcelona; the main stage will be decorated with two sea horses and an army of jellyfish; La Fura and Aquelarre de Cervera assemblies will perform catalonian folklore inspired shows and biodegradable glasses will be used to alleviate the environmental impact generated by the event.
The Cruïlla adheres to the campaign "Do Not Shut Up" against sexist aggressions with training for workers in case they have to face one of these situations and locating an information point for the victims.

It also highlights the presence of Damian Marley who returns to the festival after acting in 2015. He will present his new album 'Stony Hill'.
Other confirmed groups are Bomba Estéreo's explosive cumbia, Izal Spanish indie band presenting 'Vivo', the American sounds of Joana Serrat -image- with their new album 'Dripping Springs' and the English Bugzy Malone, new Grime figure.
