Street party of Barcelona, La Mercè 2018: Mercury Rev, The Monochrome Set, La Pegatina, Nathy Peluso...
Barcelona will celebrate its free street party, La Mercè, from Friday 21 to Monday 24 September with a spectacular musical poster, as usual, sum of the duality of Barcelona Acció Musical (BAM) and La Mercè Música musical programs.
You can find almost all musical styles: pop, rap, electronic, classical, folk, reggae, rumba, jazz, fusion, rock, desert blues, kuduro, flamenco, fado, afrobeat, funk, sefardí, reggaeton, tropical, soul , EDM, synth-rock...
But yes, lovers of heavy metal, punk or hard rock do not need to look at the poster, they stay out of the Mercè and the BAM, as these musical styles are always not included in the Barcelona festivities for unknown reasons, despite having a large and faithful base of followers. What most resembles the style of the poster is the group of rock versions Big Mouthers.
Among the novelties of La Mercè Música is the disappearance of the Parque del Fòrum as a musical space and the inclusion of the Sala Apolo at Poble Sec, in its 75 anniversary.
In 2018 the city invited to the Barcelona festivities will be Lisbon and several Portuguese groups will perform with one night -21 September- dedicated to Fado on the Avenida de la Catedral: Cuca Roseta, one of the most representative new fado voices, and Camané.
In the BAM, from Portugal will perform Surma (electronic), Bruno Pernadas (jazz, minimalism), Capicua (rap), Real Combo Lisbonense (lounge), Throat + The Shines (electro-rock, kuduro) and Pongo (kuduro, EBM , Bass music ...).
The most massive concerts will take place on the beach of Bogatell, act Love of Lesbian, Els Catarres... Another point of great concerts will be Reina Maria Cristina Avenue where the radio organizes the poster: Celtas Cortos, Manu Guix. .. And it will not be less in the Moll de la Fusta with the performance of the reggae group Green Valley (image)
