Heat stroke at the Garorock: 43 people hospitalized and more than 2800 attended

The heat wave has hit France hard during the music festivals season. At the Garorock, in Marmande (Lot-et-Garonne, New Aquitaine), 43 people affected by the heat have had to be evacuated from the festival and some 2,800 have been treated at the two emergency posts. A 12-year-old girl was especially serious ill, with an advanced state of dehydration.

The festival counted from June 27 to 30 with some 32,000 attendees who have had to endure a temperature of 40 degrees over 18 consecutive hours.

At the Garorock 2019 have performed Dj Snake, Macklemore, Marsh Mello, Ben Harper, Christine and The Queens, Bigflo & Oli, Sum 41, James Blake, De La Soul, Interpol, Aya Nakamura, Beirut or Roméo Elvis.
