Primavera Sound will not be held in 2021 either

Primavera Sound has announced its postponement until 2022. This is the second time that the Barcelona macrofestival has postponed the celebration of its 20th anniversary due to force majeure, such as the global Covid-19 pandemic and uncertainty about the legal framework for the big events between 2 and 6 June in Spain.

Despite holding a test concert without social distance in the Sala Apolo in Barcelona as a clinical trial, the organization considers that there are no guarantees that Primavera Sound can be held like previous editions in this time frame.

Other major music festivals such as Coachella in the US or Glastonbury in England have announced its postponement to 2022. However, other festivals will continue to move forward this 2021: The Byron BluesFest in Australia, with a very strict control plan, or in England -with one of the highest vaccination rates in the world- the Bestival Camp (July 29 - August 1), Creamfields, Deer Shed Festival, Reading & Leeds Festival, Parklife, Field Day... The Bestival counts with a line up consisting of Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Becky Hill, Kellys, Level 42...

However, there is no guarantee that English festivals will actually take place in the summer of 2021 and it could be a strategy to put pressure on the UK government to offer greater support to the music industry.
