Festival Ciutat Flamenco 2018: Argentina, Arcángel, La Tana and Chicuelo...

The Ciutat Flamenco Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2018. The flamenco festival leaves its usual venue at the Mercat de les Flors and will hold concerts in different venues in Barcelona: Sala Apolo, Barts, Palau de la Música, Auditori, El Born...

Among the artists who will perform in the next edition are the cantaora Argentina - new show with scenic montage -, La Tana & Chicuelo - Seville singer and Catalan guitarist premiere show -, Arcángel and The New Bulgarian Voices - dialogue between versions of Camarón or Morente with García Lorca-, Ana Morales & José María Gallardo -bailaora and guitarist in a flamenco-refined proposal-, the Euskal Barrokensemble -introducing itself in flamenco via Falla- or Mariola Membrives & Piccola Orchestra Gagarin- absolute premiere of a new show after honoring 'Omega' by Morente and Lagartija Nick-.

In a festival organized by the Taller de Músics there must be proposals from this music school such as Aurora, also close to jazz, with new flamenco values ​​such as Pere Martínez, Max Villavecchia, Javier Garrabella and Juan Carlos Marino along with the dancer Jose Manuel Álvarez. Also the new talents of Taller de Músics under the name Tablao de Músics, future flamenco artists who will perform a more representative repertoire such as soleá, alegrías, tangos, siguiriya, bulerías...

To finish with the program: The Flamenkat show with a large visual component and in which Pere Martínez or Isabel Vinardell will participate; the Djinn project of saxophonist Jorge Pardo that takes flamenco far beyond the known limits by mixing it with jazz, trap, soul, hip hop ... And the homage to the book 'The Book of Hugs' by the writer Eduardo Galeano of Rycardo Moreno: avant-garde flamenco based on ten stories from the aforementioned work.
