2021 Sant Boi Altaveu Festival: Queralt Lahoz, Joana Serrat, Los Hermanos Cubero...

The Altaveu Festival of Sant Boi de Llobregat (near Barcelona) has presented the line up of its 32nd edition which will be held from 10 to 12 September in the town of Baix Llobregat. The poster highlights the high proportion of women's performances, a metric that is unfortunately not common at many music festivals.

Among the artists who will perform at the 2021 edition of L'Altaveu are Queralt Lahoz (fusion of rap, flamenco, R&B, trap, soul, dancehall...), Joana Serrat & The Great Canyoners (american folk music), Valeria Castro (singer-songwriter), Lucía Fumero Trio (jazz), Amaia Miranda (pop, guitarist) and Ana Brenes (flamenco). Delafé (pop), Los Hermanos Cubero (spanish folk music & blues), Los Hijos del Trueno (Mediterranean and popular music) and Alessio Arena (singer-songwriter) will also perform.

Because of the pandemic times we have had to live in, we must also talk about the logistics of the event. All performances are free, but prior reservation is required to enjoy the show. Important: it is already announced that the concerts capacity will be very small and it is expected that the invitations, available from September 1 on the festival website, will be sold out quickly. Attendees must be seated, maintaining a safe social distance and must wear a mask even though the concerts will be held outdoors, in the Gardens of the Can Castells art center and the Plaça de l'Agricultura .

There will also be other activities in parallel with the festival such as the percussion show Drummers of Altaveu, talks, screenings of documentaries, dj's, book presentations... And the Altaveu awards that will be granted, as usual, the night before the festival, September 9th. Finally, it is worth mentioning the change of artistic direction at the Altaveu Festival. Víctor Partido, Sant Boi artist, leader of the indie band Partido and founder of Aclam Records, replaces Jordi Turtós. Víctor has been involved in the shows of Altaveu's own production such as the Regira (2017) and Alça la Veu (2018).
