Rapper Solo 45, sentenced to 24 years in prison for raping 4 women

Solo 45, real name Andy Anoyke, has been unanimously sentenced to 24 years in prison for 30 charges including rapes and various assaults, according to the 'BBC', which he committed between February 2015 and March from 2017.

Prosecutor Christopher Quinlan told the Bristol court in the United Kingdom: “He imprisoned, assaulted, sexually raped four women. Each suffered similarly at different times at the hands of the accused. He filmed, using his mobile phone, much of what he did. He is a sadist who gains sexual satisfaction and pleasure by inflicting pain and suffering. " Solo 45 denied the accusations, alleging that he just liked "rough sex" and assures that the relationships were consensual.

Grime rapper attorney Sally O'Neill argued that the videos the jury had seen showed "harsh sexual activity, sometimes unpleasant but, most importantly, consensual." She said the alleged victims, whom she met during her tours, were "independent adult women" operating on a "level playing field."

However, the victims, who did not know each other, described similar incidents with Anokye, including weapons, being held against their will, forcefully applying a cloth with bleach on their faces, or 'water boarding'.

Solo 45, who was part of the Boy Better Known collective, was arrested in 2017 after a woman claimed she had been raped in his apartment. Police examined videos and images on their digital devices and contacted other women.

Anokye rose to fame in 2014 with the song 'Feed Em To The Lions'. Over the course of his career, he has performed with other grime rappers such as Stormzy, Skepta, Wiley, and JME, among others.
