Barcelona promotes a street music program in the Old Town

The Barcelona Institute of Culture has announced the recovery of music spots on the streets of Barcelona, specifically in Ciutat Vella (Old Town), starting Monday June 8. To protect the musician, who will perform alone, and the public, there will be coordinators in each of the 8 points that will ensure to avoid crowds (maximum of 10 people simultaneously in a specifically marked space on the ground) and fences to separate the artist, all in the framework of the de-escalation of the measures taken by the global pandemic of Covid-19.

At each point there will be a maximum of 32 hours of musical performances, from five in the afternoon to nine at night and on weekends from twelve to two in the afternoon and from five in the afternoon to nine at night.

The points will be located in Plaza Catalunya, more or less at number 22, but on the opposite sidewalk; Avenida de la Catedral, in front of the stairs of Pla de la Seu; Plaça Nova, near the corner with Carrer de la Palla; Carrer de la Tapineria, near the corner with Baixada de la Canonja; Plaza de Ramón Berenguer el Gran, next to the wall; Santa Caterina, on Avenida Francesc Cambó and on the Arc del Triomf, at the same Arch.

After the two weeks of the pilot test, the 18 points in the city center will be recovered.
