Goerne, Elena Copons, Francisco Poyato, Röschmann, Sarah Connolly... at the XXIII Schubertíada de Vilabertran

The XXIII Schubertiada of Vilabertan (Girona, Spain) has scheduled 17 concerts on 20th Thursday 2015 to Sunday 29th August. The festival, organized by the Franz Association Schubert of Spain, is characterized by the intimate atmosphere of their concerts, the way that the musician used to do when Schubert mets his friends, and is held in the romanesque church of that population. Prices vary according to the concert but the cheapest ticket is usually 10 or 15 euros and the most expensive 50 or 75 euros.

This year will pass some of the leading figures of singing, piano or cello as the baritone Matthias Goerne, the soprano Dorothea Roschmann, Sarah Connolly, the pianist Ignasi Cambra and Francisco Poyato or the Quartet Casals, Gerhard and Klimt.

The final concert of Schubert Lieder will not be as intimate as the rest but certainly very interesting. It will feature the soprano Elena Copons, the Chamber Choir of the Province of Girona, pianist Francisco Poyato and Pablo Larraz will direct the show.

'Das Lied von der Erde' on Saturday 22th August will be another outstanding concert, attended by Matthias Goerne, the tenor Charles Reid and Josep Pons as director of chamber orchestra. They perform 'Prélude à l'après-midi d'un Faune' by Claude Debussy and 'Das Lied von der Erde' by Gustav Mahler.

The cellist Arnau Tomás will star two morning concerts called 'Bach & Breakfast' on Saturday 22th and Sunday 23th August.
