It foresees the creation together with the Prisa group, world leader media in Spanish, of a platform to promote Spanish and Latin artists in Europe.
Live Nation Entertainment, the world leader in live entertainment, has announced that it has bought a majority stake in the promoter Planet Events - founded in 1999 and managed by Chen Castaño -, a leading promoter in Spain of Latin artists and organizer of festivals such as Oro Viejo, Noches del Botanical or Fitur es Música.
The Prisa group, owner of the newspaper El País and world leader media in Spanish, will maintain a strategic participation in the promoter.
Both groups, Live Nation and Prisa, will create a new platform to promote Spanish and Latin artists across Europe, combining the 'how to' of Planet Events, the diffusion of Prisa and the resources of Live Nation.
Live Nation and Planet Events had previously collaborated in international tours such as Juanes, Luis Miguel or Paul McCartney.
Last year, Live Nation bought several concert promoters in Switzerland or Argentina as well as entering the world of heavy metal.
