Biography

Formed in mid-2006 by José Ángel Sánchez and David García, Tabü is a Spanish hard rock band known for their steadfast commitment to the hard rock genre. The group initially set out with a clear vision for their sound, image, and professionalism. In 2007, they recorded their debut album, Ven a mí, at Sonido XXI studios in Navarra under the production of Javier San Martín, a prominent producer known for his work with Spanish rock bands like La Fuga and Marea.

Released in early 2008 under an independent label, Ven a mí gained notable traction in the Spanish rock scene, with the album receiving airplay on major radio stations, including M80 Radio. Their intense promotional efforts led to over 1,000 copies sold and a national tour, solidifying their presence in the Spanish hard rock landscape.

In 2010, Tabü returned to Navarra to record their second album, Romper con todo, again collaborating with San Martín. The album dropped in spring that year and garnered attention, particularly after they won first place at the 2012 Wolfest competition, a highly regarded live band contest. Over the next two years, they shared stages with notable rock acts such as Wig Wam, Bonfire, Praying Mantis, and H.E.A.T.

The band’s third album, Destino, marked a turning point in their sound, with an emphasis on more refined, commercial production without sacrificing their hard rock roots. Recorded at Divertimento Studio with producer David Palau, Destino was released in early 2015 by the Santo Grial label and became the best-selling national hard rock album of the year.

Following the release, Tabü toured extensively across Spain and even expanded internationally, distributing their music in Japan and South America. Known for powerful live performances, they shared the stage with King Kobra, Blaze Bayley (formerly of Iron Maiden), and Obús, among others, earning them a dedicated fan base.
