Biography

Pyramides is an Argentine band that originated as a solo project by Facundo Romeo in 2012. The project began with a focus on experimentation, and Romeo recorded Pyramides' first EP alone in his bedroom. This EP was released in 2014 on cassette through the Poco Proporcional label, and it also gained international distribution in Germany via Entes Anomicos Records.

The success of this initial release and the encouragement from friends led to the formation of a full band to bring Pyramides' music to the live stage. Today, Pyramides blends new wave, post-punk, and 1980s pop influences, with a sound that evokes comparisons to bands like Soda Stereo.

The current lineup of Pyramides includes Facundo Romeo on vocals and guitar, Alonso on bass, Jonathan on guitar, Andrés on drums, and Hernan on synthesizers. As a full band, Pyramides released their debut album, Vacíos y Variables, in 2017 under the Fuego Amigo Discos label.

Originally rooted in the hardcore/punk scene, Pyramides quickly found their place in the broader independent music scene of Buenos Aires, performing alongside bands like Riel, Atrás Hay Truenos, and Bestia Bebé. In 2018, the band continued to evolve their sound as they prepared to record new material, ensuring they remained dynamic and forward-looking in their musical approach.
