Biography
Naxatras is a psychedelic rock band from Thessaloniki, Greece, formed in 2012. The trio consists of John Delias (guitar), Kostas Harizanis (drums), and John Vagenas (bass and vocals). Naxatras is known for blending elements of psychedelic rock, stoner rock, progressive rock, and space rock, creating immersive, hypnotic soundscapes characterized by long, instrumental passages and a heavy focus on groove and atmosphere.
In 2015, the band self-released their debut, self-titled album, Naxatras, recorded entirely in analog to capture a raw, authentic sound. The album received significant attention within the psychedelic rock community for its organic production and trippy, spacey vibe, helping the band establish a dedicated following in Greece and abroad. Following its success, Naxatras released their second album, II, in 2016, which expanded on their signature sound while incorporating more progressive influences and melodic elements.
Their third album, III, released in 2018, further cemented Naxatras’ place in the European psychedelic and stoner rock scene. The album showcased the band's growth as musicians and songwriters, with more dynamic compositions and experimental structures, blending heavier riffs with dreamy, ethereal passages.
Naxatras has gained recognition for their electrifying live performances, often accompanied by visual projections to enhance the psychedelic experience. They have toured extensively across Europe, performing at notable festivals such as Desertfest and Dunajam, further building their reputation as one of the leading acts in the modern psychedelic rock scene.
