Cornellà de Llobregat is preparing for another huge edition of its deeply rooted Festa Major del Corpus, taking place from June 4 to 7, 2026. The celebration once again combines popular traditions, family activities and one of the most ambitious free music programs in the Baix Llobregat area, spreading concerts and cultural events across parks, squares and neighborhoods throughout the city.
This year’s musical lineup mixes Catalan pop, urban music, classic rock and nostalgic indie names, while also introducing new large-scale productions such as the Els 40 Urban Party XXL and an expanded audiovisual drone spectacle. The city reinforces its identity as a festival that balances tradition with contemporary entertainment, creating an atmosphere designed for all generations.
Among the biggest attractions are Catalan hitmakers The Tyets, who will headline Plaça de Catalunya on Friday night with their infectious blend of urban pop and Mediterranean party energy. Earlier the same evening, Mama Dousha will bring his increasingly popular mix of indie-pop, electronics and quirky songwriting to the same stage.
Meanwhile, rock fans will find a very different atmosphere at Plaça de Sant Ildefons, where legendary heavy metal pioneers Barón Rojo will perform on Friday night, sharing the evening with the rock-focused event Rock con Ñ.
Saturday continues with another major double bill. At Plaça de Catalunya, audiences will first experience Hija de la Luna, the Mecano tribute show, before iconic Spanish pop-rock band Duncan Dhu closes the night with a set full of classics that defined several generations. At the same time, the Parc de la Ribera hosts one of the festival’s major novelties: the Els 40 Urban Party XXL, bringing a large-scale urban music celebration to the city.
Plaça de Sant Ildefons will lean into festive rumba and rock spirit with Los Manolos, while other spaces across Cornellà continue offering live music, DJ sessions and community-driven events. The program also includes the traditional Nit Celta at Can Mercader and local participatory events such as Corncanta and performances linked to neighborhood associations and cultural groups.
The closing day keeps the energy high with Els 40 Pop Cornellà 2026, presented by legendary radio host Tony Aguilar. The event has already confirmed artists such as Álvaro de Luna, Miki Núñez, Ruslana and Naiara, turning Sunday afternoon into a large mainstream pop showcase.
Beyond music, Corpus 2026 continues to reinforce the elements that make Cornellà’s Festa Major unique. Traditional highlights such as the Corndefoc, the Trobada de Gegants, castellers and the Populari coexist with modern productions like the Saturday night spectacle “Un sol batec”, which combines drones, fireworks and music from the Torre de la Miranda viewpoint. The festival will close Sunday night with a large-scale light and laser farewell show at Plaça de Catalunya.
The city is also emphasizing accessibility and inclusion. Several headline concerts will include magnetic loop systems and vibrating backpacks for deaf and hard-of-hearing attendees, while the XSST! sensory-friendly area will provide quieter activities for children with hypersensitivity. Sign language interpretation and audio description services will also be available during selected events.
More than just a music festival, Cornellà’s Corpus has become a large-scale community celebration — one that reflects the city’s cultural diversity, neighborhood identity and ability to combine local tradition with contemporary urban culture.
The Festes Alternatives de Kornellà celebrate their 34th edition with concerts, DJs, community activities and underground spirit at Camp de les Aigües
While Cornellà’s official Festa Major fills the city with mainstream concerts and large public celebrations, the Festes Alternatives de Kornellà 2026 once again offer a parallel space dedicated to self-managed culture, punk attitude and alternative music scenes.
Taking place on June 5 and 6 at the Camp de les Aigües, the long-running gathering reaches its 34th edition, reinforcing its role as one of the most established alternative festivals in the Baix Llobregat underground circuit. Across two days, the program combines live concerts, sound systems, community meals and grassroots activities in a DIY environment deeply connected to local countercultural movements.
Friday night opens with the traditional pregó, toast and txupinazo before launching into a concert lineup featuring Aklatallots, Atumba Abierta, Kuerpospin and Infante Alfonso, alongside hip-hop, dub and drum & bass sessions by DJs including DJ Rona, Hylos, Belén Natali and DJ Ronko.
Saturday expands the festival atmosphere from midday with vermut sessions, a popular paella and community activities before the evening concerts begin. The second night will feature performances by Botijoh, Ofensiva, Sutge and Liberum, while the electronic and underground dance side of the festival leans into breakbeat, acid techno, hardcore and frenchcore through selectors such as Slice, Acid Warlock, Fitek, Paulix, Mat Weasel B2B Tanukichi and Vergaratek B2B Hanya.
The aesthetics and spirit of the festival continue embracing classic punk imagery, anti-commercial identity and collective participation, offering a very different atmosphere from the larger institutional stages of Corpus. More than simply an alternative music event, the Festes Alternatives de Kornellà remain a meeting point for local DIY culture, political expression and underground scenes that have survived in the city for more than three decades.
Together with the official Corpus concerts — including The Tyets, Mama Dousha, Duncan Dhu, Barón Rojo and the Els 40 Urban Party XXL — the alternative festivities contribute to making Cornellà’s Festa Major one of the most musically diverse celebrations in the Barcelona metropolitan area during spring 2026.
More than 180 activities will transform Cornellà into one of the biggest festive hotspots in the Barcelona metropolitan area.
