Sant Cugat del Vallès is preparing for one of the most anticipated events of the year as the Festa Major 2026 returns from June 25 to June 29, bringing five days of concerts, cultural traditions, family activities and community celebrations to the city. With more than 205 events and the participation of 82 local associations, this year's edition promises to be one of the largest in recent memory.
Music once again plays a central role in the festivities, with 64 live performances scheduled throughout the celebration. Leading the lineup are some of the most popular names in contemporary Catalan music: The Tyets, Ginestà and Fetus, three artists representing different generations and styles within the country's thriving music scene.
The Tyets arrive as one of the biggest attractions of the festival. The Maresme duo has become a phenomenon across Catalonia thanks to their blend of urban rhythms, pop melodies and festive energy. Their appearance is expected to be one of the most attended concerts of the entire Festa Major.
Also among the headliners are Ginestà, whose emotionally charged indie-pop has earned them a loyal following, and Fetus, the Empordà-based band known for combining punk, folk and Catalan popular culture into an unmistakable sound that has become a reference point for the alternative scene.
Beyond the headline acts, the programme showcases a strong commitment to local talent. A total of 23 performances involve local artists, including bands such as Sol Lagarto, Pubilles Ninja and Robot Robert, who will perform on the city's alternative stage, La Pua.
The festival's musical diversity extends far beyond pop and rock. Jazz lovers will find performances by the acclaimed Colina Miralta Sambeat Trio and the Alba Careta Group in Plaça de Can Quitèria, while traditional music enthusiasts can enjoy performances by Els Nois de l'Eixida and Haváname, two groups dedicated to preserving the popular Catalan habanera tradition.
Several tribute and party-oriented shows will also form part of the programme. The popular live karaoke spectacle Mortimers Life Karaoke Show returns, alongside cover bands such as Please (U2 tribute), Emanems and Big Mouthers, ensuring that audiences of all ages will find something to enjoy.
Dance music and festive orchestras will have a strong presence as well. The renowned orchestras Montgrins, La Betty and Coco will animate the city's evenings, while Tapeo Sound System celebrates its 15th anniversary with a special performance during the festivities.
The 2026 edition also introduces several important changes to festival spaces. The Parc Jove moves to Parc de Ramon Barnils, becoming the main hub for youth-oriented programming, large-format concerts, an escape room experience and the return of the colourful Holi Festival. Meanwhile, the Festa Major Alternativa relocates to Parc de Can Vernet, where alternative cultural activities, the popular L'Arrossegada and the SoundCugat programme will take place.
Beyond the music, Sant Cugat's Festa Major remains deeply rooted in local traditions. The programme includes iconic events such as the Seguici d'Inici, the Pregó delivered this year by TV3 meteorologist Gemma Puig, the Concurs d'Arrossos, the Seguici Nocturn, and the traditional Paga-li, Joan! dance on Sant Pere's Day.
The city will also host casteller performances featuring the Castellers de Sant Cugat, the Minyons de Terrassa and the Nens del Vendrell, alongside correfocs, giant figures, sardanes, street theatre, circus performances and family-friendly activities spread across multiple venues.
With more music, new locations and the return of beloved traditions such as L'Estovallada and the Festa de l'Aigua, Sant Cugat del Vallès is set to celebrate a Festa Major that reflects both the city's cultural heritage and its vibrant contemporary identity.
The Tyets, Ginestà and Fetus headline a diverse musical programme featuring local artists, jazz, folk, tribute shows and alternative stages across Sant Cugat del Vallès.
