El Prat de Llobregat will celebrate its Festa Major 2026 from September 25 to 28, once again turning streets, squares and public spaces into a large meeting point for music, popular culture and neighbourhood life. Although the programme includes family activities, sports, traditional events and the usual opening and closing ceremonies, live music will be one of the strongest parts of this year’s edition, with three main areas offering very different atmospheres throughout the weekend.
The Parc del Fondo d’en Peixo will once again host some of the most eclectic proposals of the Festa Major. Its programme includes Vera Fauna, whose music moves between psychedelic pop, indie and southern influences; Galician duo Fillas de Cassandra, one of the most distinctive new voices on the Iberian alternative scene; and the irreverent pop of Paco Pecado. The stage will also feature Elena Grueso, La Rauxa, Fades and Balahits, alongside DJ sessions designed to extend the nights beyond the live performances.
For younger audiences, the Zona Jove Estació will focus on contemporary urban, electronic and pop sounds. On Friday, the line-up will bring together Maig, Javugo, Mama Dousha, Cat Lletres and DJ Trapella. Mama Dousha arrives as one of the most recognisable names in the new Catalan pop scene, combining electronic production, urban rhythms and melodic songwriting in a format that has quickly moved from small venues to major festival stages.
Saturday at Zona Jove will continue with another broad selection of emerging and urban artists, including El Llobregat Suena, GlorySixVain, Kristina, Yasita and Fresh Cobo. The programme also underlines the Festa Major’s commitment to artists connected to El Prat and the surrounding area, with performers such as Javugo, Fresh Cobo and other local projects appearing alongside more established names.
The CEM Julio Méndez will provide the most intergenerational concerts of the weekend. On Saturday, La Cabra Mecánica will return with a repertoire that became one of the most recognisable parts of Spanish pop-rock at the turn of the century. The night will also include ABBA The New Experience, bringing the Swedish group’s classics back to the stage, before Anómala DJ takes over the late-night session.
Sunday at Julio Méndez will have a more openly festive character. Local artist Zamorano will share the programme with Estopaos, a tribute to Estopa and their mixture of rumba and rock, before Hotel Cochambre close the night with their familiar repertoire of pop and rock classics transformed into a large-scale party show.
Music will also appear throughout the wider Festa Major programme through local associations, cultural organisations and neighbourhood groups. Artists such as Zick&Soul, Elena Grueso, Javugo, Fresh Cobo and Zamorano reinforce the local presence, while music from the city’s cultural entities will accompany several traditional and community events during the four days.
The celebrations begin on Friday, September 25, with the traditional Toc d’Inici and the Cercavila d’Inici leading into the Esclat de Festa Major, the official proclamation and opening fireworks at Plaça de la Vila. From there, the programme spreads throughout El Prat until Monday evening.
The Festa Major will end on September 28 with the Cercavila Final and the traditional fireworks display near the station. The Toc de Fi de Festa will then accompany the city’s Gegants Reis back towards Plaça de la Vila, bringing to an end four days in which El Prat will combine some of its strongest traditions with one of its most varied musical programmes of recent years.
Mama Dousha, Fillas de Cassandra, La Cabra Mecánica, Vera Fauna and Hotel Cochambre lead a broad programme mixing indie, urban music, pop, electronic sounds and local talent.
