Of British and Romanian parentage, influenced by her background as an actor, Camilla Mathias´s style is a fusion of classical and folk sound with electronic and acoustic beats; be they sensual ballads decorated with her classical guitar roots, or entertaining autobiographical ditties to which everyone can relate. She has so far performed in French, Italian, German, Swiss German and Spanish; composed additionally in Romanian, Portuguese and Greek, and reached audiences in over twenty-one countries (incl. South America, Australia, South-East Asia and Saudi Arabia). Camilla´s relatively short period as a recording artist has so far included working with BBC6 Music, film composer Yann McCullough (Hotel Budapest, The Hobbit), Channel Four’s Award-winning series Unreported World, musician/producer Sam Beer (Treetop Flyers), sound designers Rupert Lally (Flöör) & Charlie Atansyan, music documentary-maker Don Shades, producers Jascha Lipensky (24fps), Tom Callahan, Steh Black and Russell Hergbert (Phree). Camilla releasd her debut EP Entr’acte with her own Noroc label, in 2014. The EP was launched at London’s Hospital Club and Bern’s ONO, and reveals a range from pared-down singer/songwriter to operatic songstress to pop Chanteuse; all with an ever-present classical guitar.
