The #Brexit will affect adversely to the great music festivals in Barcelona

The #Brexit will affect adversely to the great music festivals in Barcelona

It is a fact, the UK has decided to leave the European Union for more than one million votes. A measure that will have economic repercussions worldwide.

In Spain, the 2015 British tourists were the 23 percent of the total and 20.9 percent of total spending -more than 14,000 million euros-. Therefore, the British tourism is a tremendous influx of money in the country.

Financial analysts predict that pound will fall against the euro and the British could lose between 10 and 15 percent of its purchasing power.

Less money, less tourists and it turns out that both the Primavera Sound and Sónar, with a majority of foreign participants in total audience, have the British as their first public outside the country. Therefore, it is expected that in addition to a possible increase barriers to travel from the UK to the European Union and the reverse -could be a 'third country' for the rest of Europe if a deal such as done with Switzerland or Norway is not reached-, the British will have less money to spend on euros or just to travel.

It is still too early to know what specific impact will have the Brexit in Catalan macrofestivals but what is quite clear is that it will be negative and although the effect would be limited, it is not negligible. However, these effects will not be seen in two years, the term has the UK to unplug from the European Union and as these negotiations progress and as 'friendly' end up being.
