Sidonie and Nacho Vegas, celebration and reflection on the final day of the 2015 Festival Altaveu

Altaveu 2015 has finally escaped the rain and its complications successfully. The band Sidonie, with a big concert in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento of Sant Boi, have been the most crowded concert of this festival in its 27th edition.

The alternative rock group presented last Saturday night September 12, 2015 in the town of Baix Llobregat its 'Sierra & Canada' show.

At stage there was the projection of the Canadian flag as the background of the group, a set of lights that left its members most of the time in the darkness, some neons with the name of each member of the group and beach equipment with which all came on stage musicians: balls, shovels, lounger, parasol ... According to said Marc Ros, lyricist of the group, for 16 years did not play on the Altaveu Festival and, back then, the nowadays well-known band, they did it as a guest group.

The public response turned this concert, for free, in the most massive of the festival this year and the musicians responded with a great show with a festive accent. They interacted directly with the public leaving a child to sing or going up on the shoulders of a 'roadie' for ‘walking’ among the public.

The other major concert of the day, although in a very different tone, was the one of Nacho Vegas at the near Ateneo of Sant Boi. The famous singer gave a concert of about one hour, no encore, and felt clearly short in the audience who was waiting a good time for the singer to return the stage again, when it was already two a.m. and could be that music performances are banned at this time.

The Spaniard musician, with a look that made him seem to have more than the forty years he have, moved between folk and rock, with his narrative voice, performing songs from his latest album La Zona Sucia such as 'La Broma Final’ or others like ‘Dry Martini SA', 'Me he perdido', 'Ciudad Vampira', 'Runrún', 'Como hacer crack' ... In any case, to hear songs rather than sing them. Between songs he made mention of the Via Lliure at Meridiana and noted that, if he lives in Catalonia, he will vote in elections on September 27 by the CUP.

The same night, a few hundred meters, has played in the same festival, particularly in the Cal Ninyo Theatre, the singer Christina Rosenvinge. It was not crazy thinking that she could come up on stage with Nacho Vegas. The two musicians jointly issued a mini-CD in 2007 entitled "Verano Fatal” but ultimately did not happen.

Other actions of the last day of Altaveu were the pianist and singer Dorian Wood at the Cal Ninyo Theatre, singer Anna Moliner showed her naive pop in the Plaça de l’Ajuntament and and guitarist Joan Miquel Oliver -Former leader of the missing Antonia Font- showed his tropical side with songs from his new solo album 'Pegasus' and confessed to the public that he believes in aliens films like 'Men In Black', pointing that it’s a "very good" film.
