Mudhoney gives a noisy end to Primavera Sound 2016

Primavera Sound has closed its 2016 edition noisily. Mudhoney and The Black Lips bands have been the leading artists of the last day of macrofestival at the CCCB on Sunday June 5th.

The americans Mudhoney, grunge and punk myth, gave a concert that could be divided into two parts. The part where vocalist Mark Arm -creator of the term grunge to define the musical style he and others were making in Seattle- had his guitar on, more grunge, and the part without it, much more punk.

The crowd that filled the square Joan Corominas -the concerts were freely- gone mad when the group played their best known song 'Touch me I'm sick'.

Before Mudhoney performed on the same stage the Bradford Cox's group -Deerhunter and Atlas Sound singer and guitarist-, much more experimental. They improvised songs that make continued use of 'crescendos' in their compositions, almost instrumental songs.

In the Theater of the CCCB held others concerts like Esperit!, the Dalmau Boada's musical project in which he plays the drums over guitar loops.

Other groups that have formed part of the party on Sunday June 5th Primavera in the Raval were The Black Lips, Pacosan, Power Burkas or Redthreat among others.

A Primavera Festival with more than 200,000 attendees

The organization of the Primavera Sound has ensured that 2016 has been the year with biggest assistance -including free day at Park Forum-. To date Primavera had never exhausted all entrances to the festival.

The festival has no plans to increase its capacity but if there is the possibility of expanding the concerts to the city through initiatives such as Primavera al Raval. A space that musically uses the BAM every year and that was the epicenter of Sónar by Day until grew so much and it became too small for the size of the event.
