Jordi Fàbregas (Sallent, 1951), soul of the Tradicionàrius music center in Gracia (Barcelona, Spain) and a member of the El Pont d'Arcalís group, died today at the age of 70 after having been hospitalized for months due to heart disease. The musician was also the founder of the groups Coses, La Murga, Primera Nota or Els Ministres del Camí Ral, among others.
His figure has been basic for the dissemination of folk music in Catalonia to the direction of the Center Artesà Tradicionàrius of Barcelona and the Festival Tradicionàrius from 1988 to 2020. He received the Cross of Sant Jordi last year, he was also awarded the National Prize de Música (1991), the National Prize for Popular Culture (1995) and the Medal of Honor of Barcelona (2006).
