Producer SOPHIE dies in an accident in Athens

The PAN label has announced on its Twitter profile the sudden death of SOPHIE at the age of 34, today around four in the morning in an accident in Athens (Greece). The production artist was one of the most influential values in the world of pop and electronic music of the 21st century, for example in artists like Charli XCX.

Born in Glasgow (United Kingdom, 1986), she began her career as a producer on Numbers, she co-wrote the 2015 single 'Bitch I'M Madonna' by Madonna, featuring Nicki Minaj. In 2018 she published 'Oil Of Every Pearl's Un-insider', nominated for best Dance and electronic music album at the 2019 Grammys. She also produced other artists such as Vince Staples, Lady Gaga or Flume.

One of her best works is 'It's okay to cry' where she announced her transition to a woman, giving visibility to transgender people and the LGTBI community.
