Five years of Gambeat

The Gambeat Festival, dedicated to the garage and the primordial rock of the 50 ', 60' and 70 ', changes again its 'headquarters' for its 5th anniversary. This year will be held on 4th and 5th September in the Sala Upload and in Heliogàbal on September 3. In others editions, the festival has been held in other pubs of Barcelona like [La2] Apolo, Bikini or BeCool. Changes? Best price for drinks, kitchen or just the place within the Poble Espanyol.

This year, as mentioned above, the Gambeat 2015 will be divided into three sessions. The festival will debut on Thursday, September 3th, at Heliogàbal with Barcelona beat and rock & roll group The Ratkellers influenced by Little Richard or Chuck Berry. They accompany Manolo Navarro (The Canary Sect, voice and harmonica), Javier Goti (The Meow, guitar and vocals), Marc Argenter (Trons, Els Morts, guitar and vocals), Xavier F. (The Confidents, Els Morts bass and vocals) and Joan Codina (The Confidents, drums) Xavi Beat DJs, David & William Undersound and Victor Retros until 2:30 am.

The next day, Friday, September 4th, the festival begins seriously in the Upload pub of the Poble Espanyol with the Portuguese TT Syndicate, an explosive combination of rhythm and blues, soul and sixties beat that has a good wind section that invites wild dancing.

More surfer is the sound of The Shivas, an American quartet that visit Barcelona for the second time and combined garage rock with catchy ballads. The English Kumari, in turn, is another garage band sound of the 60 'and 70', in line with the festival, and with influences from The Doors and The Stooges. Finally, that day, the Italians Go! Zilla present their psychedelic rock with punk attitude. The party will continue until six o'clock with DJs Mike Mariconda, Miguel Ygarza, Edu Lobo and El Lagran.

On Saturday morning it has been scheduled a scooter tour that will begin at the Hotel Princesa Sofia in Barcelona from 11.30 to 14.00. At 13.30, a snack-food at Vermuteria Olivia with HHFunky, Sindicat del Pop and Gambeat DJs. Good opportunity to order prawns, icon festival.

From 20.30 p.m., back again in the Sala Upload to see one of the headliners of the festival together with TT Syndicate, Canadians Dead Ghost. A group of garage that they recorded their second album with an eight tracks in different parts of his village. They have a strong influence of rock'n'roll of the fifties.

The same night will play the locals The Royal Roosters with their genuine rock'n'roll, blues and rythm'n'blues, Mexican garage-punk band The Explosives and French The Missing Souls will play the same night. The party will continue with DJs Miguel Ygarza, Edu Lobo, Lluis Trashkid and Alber Acedos.
