The Guitar BCN 2018 has got a good start with Jorge Drexler's concert at the Liceo in Barcelona, on January 27, and eight concerts sold out, 25,000 tickets sold before starting.
In this edition the festival brings great names of contemporary music such as Bob Dylan, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, or the ex-Beatle Ringo Starr. The closing of the festival will also be great with the band Future Islands in the Poble Espanyol of Barcelona. It is also remarkable, within the international section, the return of the group from the '80s, Deacon Blue.
Artists of great musical quality will have an appointment at the festival, exquisite music such as that played by Asaf Avidan, Lucy Rose, Angel Olsen, Nora Norman, Susanne Sundfor or Benjamin Clementine. Also the two Spanish most talked about in 2017: Rosalía and Raül Refree and Maria Arnal and Marcel Bagés. Within the world of flamenco, the festival will also have the presence of Antonio Carmona and Niño de Elche.
Within the programming are well-known artists throughout Spain such as India Martinez, Rozalén, Juanito Makandé, Rosario or El Kanka. Also diverse Catalan groups such as Obeses, Doctor Prats, Miquel Vilella, Pau Vallvé, Sr. Canario (guitarist in Mishima), the rumberos Sabor de Gracia, Joan Queralt or Fredi Leis.
