Eindhoven Metal Meeting will once again bring an intense dose of extreme metal to the Dutch city of Eindhoven in 2025. The new edition of the indoor festival will take place from Thursday 11 to Saturday 13 December at the Effenaar, maintaining its format of a warm-up show followed by two full festival days. Promoters report that passes for the weekend are close to selling out, underlining the status of the event as a reference point for fans of black, death and related extreme styles at the start of winter.
The programme begins on Thursday 11 December with a traditional warm-up party in the same venue. German black metal outfit Groza leads a bill that also includes The Spirit, Nornir, Antikvlt and Hyla. The opening night is designed as an introduction to the atmosphere of the weekend, offering festival-goers an opportunity to familiarise themselves with Effenaar’s two-stage set-up and to start the event in a more compact setting.
The main action unfolds on Friday 12 December, when Swedish death metal veterans Hypocrisy headline the first full festival day. They are joined by Norwegian black metal institution Gorgoroth and US cult act Absu, alongside a bill that reflects several epochs of extreme metal. Finnish groups …And Oceans and Mörk Gryning bring a Scandinavian perspective, while bands such as Ancient, Endseeker and Fange contribute variations ranging from classic black metal to contemporary death and sludge. Further depth is added by Arsgoatia, Warfield, Coldborn, Trivax, Plaguepreacher and Angstskrig, ensuring a continuous flow of performances across both stages.
Saturday 13 December shifts the focus slightly towards darker, more atmospheric and old-school sounds. Triptykon, the project led by Tom G. Warrior, tops the final day with a set expected to draw on the legacy of Celtic Frost as well as its own catalogue. US pioneers Possessed, often cited among the originators of death metal, appear alongside black metal figureheads Nargaroth and Polish liturgical project Batushka. Veteran bands such as Terrorizer, Tribulation, Sinister and Massacre reinforce the historic weight of the line-up, while Endstille and Furia add a more contemporary European black metal angle.
Eindhoven Metal Meeting 2025 continues to position itself as a medium-sized festival with a clear focus: extreme styles delivered in an indoor environment with controlled production, good sightlines and a compact site close to the centre of Eindhoven. The Effenaar venue offers two rooms on different levels, bars, food options and a merchandise market, while its proximity to the city’s train and bus station simplifies access for international visitors.
With the bill now complete and only a limited number of tickets remaining, the 2025 edition is expected to attract fans from across Europe looking for an end-of-year event dedicated exclusively to metal’s most abrasive forms.
