Exhibition of 50 years of Black Sabbath at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery

Birmingham is possibly the heaviest city in the world. In this industrial city of the center of England, dedicated in the '70s to the production of steel, the metal was sharpened by Judas Priest, a metal anvil was forged as heavy and overwhelming by Black Sabbath, capable of leveling any metal, or already the '80s, a bomb of metallic splinters that pierce the flesh like butter, the hyperacelerated Napalm Death.

Home of Metal and the Birmingham Museum (Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery) will dedicate a big exhibition to one of them, unarguably the most famous of them, Black Sabbath, for its 50th anniversary. A band formed by Ozzy Osbourne, Tommy Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler in 1968. A long story with several stages like when Ronnie James replaced the histrionic Ozzy.

The great exhibition will be projected from the point of view of their followers and their devotion to Black Sabbath. Memorabilia, personal collections of musicians, iconic band objects and more than 3,000 Black Sabbath portraits of fans from around the world will be on display.

A group that has left its mark in other styles such as the doom or the stoner with their 'down tuned' guitars and their slow but devastating style. It is said that "You can only trust yourself and the first six Black Sabbath albums", quote attributed to Henry Rollins, singer of the Black Flag. Their album 'Paranoid' is for many metal fans the best album in the history of Heavy Metal, with capital letters.

The Black Sabbath held their last two concerts, with Ozzy as a singer, at Genting Arena in Birmingham in 2017 under the name 'The End tour'.
