The independent music community in Chengdu is preparing for the return of the Chun You Festival, a two-day outdoor celebration that blends music, art and creative culture in an immersive springtime setting. The 2026 edition will take place April 11–12 at Fanmate Music Park in Heilongtan, bringing together a vast lineup of bands, DJs and experimental artists from across China and beyond.
Organised by the Chengdu-based label and creative collective Morning 早上好, Chun You has grown steadily since its beginnings in 2013, when it started as a small courtyard gathering in the city’s Flower Town district. Over more than a decade, the event has evolved into a defining spring ritual for music lovers in southwest China, expanding its stages, artistic programming and international reach while maintaining its grassroots ethos.
For 2026, the festival continues its evolution with seven performance zones, each designed around a distinct musical atmosphere. Across the site, audiences will encounter a wide spectrum of sounds ranging from indie rock and experimental electronics to hip-hop, ambient, avant-garde and global underground scenes.
The lineup features a remarkable cross-section of China’s independent music community alongside international artists and DJs. Among the confirmed performers are Acid Man, AIYDISC, Aliang, AUDIOSYNTAX, Bambi, Blue Foundation, Bodysnatcher, Bores, Bottlesmoke, CatchUp, Chris Imler, Colloboh, Darkle, Diva Li, DJ Blue, DJ D, DJ Fort in the Club, DJ Plead, Echt!, FAAR, Fayzz, Francine Satu, Fujiita Pinacle, Fugui Geezer, Greentech, Heling, Husle, I.C.Y., Javis, Kaishandao, Katak, Knopha, Kongsent, Kun, Lagerregal, Leonville, Lilith, Lionmill, Lois Lazur, Luca, Luna Li, Marco Duts, Max Shen, Mindy Meng Wang, MongTong, NaraBar, Night Lunch, O.A.Y., Oxg3n, Pilah, Pollyhedron, Punx, QiuQiu, Rasrankin, Ringo Sin, Roshan, Ruitang, Sami Galbi, Sam Goku, Sergeyvayaja, Sanyu, Shumo, S&S Soul, Sour No More, Stella Z, Stolen, Sleep Leaps, Sunkyoung, Sweet Sister Session, Taiga, Takoyoki, Tao, Theoripum Lumination, Toulouse Low Trax, Tristan Arp, Ts. Beyond the performances themselves, Chun You has long been known for its immersive open-air experience, where music intersects with art installations, workshops, food stalls and camping areas. Rather than following a rigid schedule, the festival encourages visitors to explore freely across its different zones, creating their own path through the event’s eclectic program.
This spirit of openness and discovery is central to the philosophy of the organisers, who describe Chun You as a gathering built on participation, mutual respect and shared creative energy. Over the years, the festival has become a meeting point for musicians, artists, designers and audiences who view it not simply as a party, but as a space for experimentation and connection.
With tickets already on sale and single-day passes available for those unable to attend the full weekend, Chun You Festival 2026 promises another vibrant chapter in Chengdu’s independent music culture. As spring arrives in Sichuan, the message from the organisers is simple: come explore, meet new people, and celebrate music and creativity together.
The Chun You Festival 2026 returns to Chengdu on April 11–12 with dozens of artists across multiple stages, reaffirming its status as one of China’s most beloved grassroots music gatherings.
