Obscene Extreme Festival has begun unveiling the line-up for its 2026 edition, scheduled to take place from Wednesday 1 July to Sunday 5 July 2026 in Trutnov, Czech Republic. The event, held at the so-called Battlefield site, once again positions itself as an international meeting point for underground extreme music, with a programme centred on grindcore, death metal, crust, hardcore and related subgenres.
The first batch of announced artists combines long-running reference names with newer bands making their debut at the festival. On the hardcore and metalcore side, Converge are among the most prominent additions, bringing their influential catalogue to Obscene Extreme for the first time. From the sludge and doom sphere, New Orleans veterans Eyehategod will also appear in Trutnov, adding a slower, abrasive counterpoint to the predominantly high-speed line-up.
The festival continues to highlight grindcore in multiple variations. Finnish group Rotten Sound, who have a long history with Obscene Extreme, are set to return, while acts such as Benighted, Sulfuric Cautery, Retorsion, Øblast and Vor Die Hunde represent different current directions within grind and deathgrind. Crust and punk are present through bands like Avskum, Uncurbed, Warcollapse and others, maintaining the stylistic breadth that has characterised previous editions.
Death metal, in both its classic and more modern forms, occupies a substantial part of the programme. The 2026 line-up includes groups such as Centinex, Demonical, Maceration, Morta Skuld, Necrot, Devangelic, Vulvectomy, Teratoma, Taedifer and Amputated Genitals, alongside technical and brutal variants represented by Embryonic Devourment, Pustulant Flesh and Paediatrician. The presence of Colombian bands Masacre, Amputated Genitals and Poison The Preacher, as well as Argentina’s Social Shit and Mexican act Oxidised Razor, underlines the festival’s transcontinental reach.
The 2026 edition will also feature special projects and one-off appearances. Season of the Dead (Killjoy Lives – Necrophagia tribute) brings together musicians connected to the legacy of cult horror-themed death metal, while Czech project Možnost Volby? is scheduled as part of a limited series of shows marking the end of the band. Local scene representation is further reinforced by groups such as Isacaarum, Malignant Tumour and Taedifer.
True to its independent profile, Obscene Extreme maintains a focus on underground culture, DIY ethics and relatively accessible ticket prices compared with larger corporate festivals. The 2026 programme, still in progress, is expected to expand with further announcements over the coming months, but the first confirmed names already outline a consistently extreme, internationally diverse bill.
